3M expands solar film manufacturing facilityManufacturing conglomerate 3M Co., which makes everything from Post-Its and Scotch Tape to respirators, said Wednesday it´s expanding its solar film manufacturing facility to support growing demand for flexible solar power modules. The majority of the facility expansion in Columbia, Mo., is scheduled to be completed in 2011. 3M said its Ultra Barrier Solar Film acts as a replacement for glass with high light transmission, moisture barrier technology and better durability.
