BOTTLE MEASURING TOOLS SPEED UP CONTAINER DEVELOPMENT

Spirits manufacturer Diageo recently launched its new liqueur Dulseda in the fastest time-to-market ever, thanks to automated test & measuring systems from AGR International. Installed in the company's Plainfield packaging lab in Illinois in June 2005, AGR's Vision Bottle Gauge (VGB) is an automated testing station designed to measure the ever-expanding array of container sizes & profiles.

The VBG uses a high-precision servo motor drive to provide granular control over the device's imaging movement, replacing the potentially time-consuming & error-prone process of hand-applying calipers to take critical container dimensions. Automation makes every measurement repeatable, performed in the same way, in the same location, on every container - from body dimensions, height & finish/thread, to inside bore, base clearance & weight.

Instead of taking a couple of hours to get the dimensions of a bottle by hand, it can be done now in two minutes!
