Bürkle supplies 7-Opening Ypsator Lamination Line to Willard & Kelsey SolarGroup

First High-Volume Multi-Opening Lamination Line in North America in operation

Bürkle North America Inc., and Willard & Kelsey Solar Group announced today that W&K has begun high-volume production of Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) solar panels at their plant in Perrysburg, Ohio using Bürkle’s proven Multi Daylight Laminator, the Ypsator.

The lamination system is the first of its type in the North American market having a host of significant features including thermal fluid platen heating assuring uniform heating of the modules across the platen, minimized edge pinch due to the hydraulic hot pressing step, reduced cycle time due to the split lamination process and uniform cooling resulting in flat modules having reduced internal stress.
As a multi daylight system the overall machine footprint is significantly reduced as compared to single daylight systems. The system at Willard and Kelsey as supplied provides the capacity of 140 Modules per hour.
