Ducatt starts production of the ultimate solar glass
Exiting moments
"On December 12, 2011 we started the production of our ultimate solar glass. It was an exciting moment!” Roel Bollen, CEO of Ducatt proudly reveals.
“Feeling the heat of that oven, to see that first mix of sand and recycled glass being melted, and most of all - to see that first surge of glass flowing out of it."
"We completely rebuilt our production facility with a brand new dedicated solar glass furnace and state-of-the-art production lines.”
“From now on, manufacturers of photovoltaic modules can request glass samples and orders can be placed."
Milestone
"This was the next milestone in our development. Ducatt was founded in 2010 as a spin-off of Emgo, a market leader in the lighting industry and specialised applications. The whole year, we worked very hard on getting Ducatt to the next level." Roel Bollen continues. "Last September, this resulted in a successful fair at PVSEC in Hamburg, where we had promising contacts."
"The first customer orders will already leave our plant in January." Roel Bollen tells. "We will start with uncoated, patterned, low-iron glass with a thickness of 4,0 and 3,2 mm. In the meantime, we continue our research to develop solar glass with a transparency up to 95% and a thickness down to 2 mm."
