Polysolar opens new R&D office in UK

Polysolar has opened a new R&D office at the Printed Electronics Technology Centre (Petec) in the UK.

Polysolar is working on organic photovoltaic integration in glass for building windowsThe photovoltaics (PV) firm is currently working with glass company Pilkington and chemicals company Solvay to develop PV glazing based on low-cost organic polymers. The new office allows it to expand the development, which could lead to transparent organic (O)PV glazing for building integration.

The move confirms the company´s commitment to the growing plastic electronics industry in the UK, reports the Cambridge Network.

Polysolar´s existing OPV panels already deliver 25% more power than conventional PV options, while remaining lower in price.
