Scheuten installs nearly 20 MW of PV in first half of the yearScheuten Solar has realized nearly 20 megawatts worth of photovoltaic projects in the first half of the year, in Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands. A spokesperson for the company told pv magazine that the biggest project Scheuten realized was a 1.8 MWp system in Malle, Belgium. It was completed in 1.5 months, they said. Around another two MW worth of systems were installed across Bornem, Herentals and Puurs, all in Belgium, in cooperation with Montea. The first order for Wallonië was also delivered, worth almost one MW. Meanwhile, the company installed almost one MWp for Natuzzi and over 2.5 MW in cooperation with EGBM, in Italy. It also entered the Netherlands market through the implementation of the country’s largest building-integrated photovoltaic project at the Central Station Rotterdam. Going forward, the spokesperson said that Scheuten intends to install a similar amount of photovoltaics in the second half of the year. However, as they explained, it "all depends on market developments in our target countries". Asked if the company had been negatively affected by the weak demand that has characterized the first half of 2011, the spokesperson replied: "Despite the weak demand in the global PV industry in the first half of 2011, we saw a continued strong demand in our project business." Explaining why, he added: "Thanks to our flexibility (being a relatively small and lean company) we earned repeat business with existing clients. In addition to our flexibility, the brand awareness of Scheuten Solar summed up to these positive results of our Project Realisation department." 08.07.2011, Scheuten Solar/pv-magazine.com News material on the Site is copyright and belongs to the Company or to its third party news provider, and all rights are reserved.
