Scheuten Solar supplies BIPV modules for Carrara football stadiumScheuten Solar has produced and delivered 600 custom made BIPV modules for the Carrara football stadium on Australia’s Gold Coast. The glass-glass solar modules are integrated into the roof of this prestigious building, covering the inner rim of the football stadium. With a capacity of 220 kWp this project is Australia’s largest BIPV project so far. The solar photovoltaic (PV) roof has been designed to generate 20 percent of the stadium’s forecast annual energy consumption, which is in line with the Federal Government target and equals power consumption of more than 250 homes in Queensland. The PV panelling, which is 5 metres wide, is installed over 450 metres of roofing. “I’m very proud that we produced BIPV Optisol® modules for such an iconic project as the Carrara football stadium. Although Scheuten Solar has realized many large eye-catching BIPV projects, this is the first one of this scale in Australia. This proves that our innovations for BIPV seamlessly fit current demands worldwide”, stated Jan-Willem Tolkamp, Manager Sales BIPV, Scheuten Solar. 13.12.2011, Scheuten Solar News material on the Site is copyright and belongs to the Company or to its third party news provider, and all rights are reserved.
